Army cadets fight it out in military skills competition at St Bees

ST BEES School’s Cumbria Cadet Force (CCF) were the hosts of Bega Banga, a military skills competition for army cadets recently.

The cadets and adult staff camped on the school’s rugby pitch during the competition, and were joined on Saturday by an RAF Puma helicopter from Oxfordshire. Teams from St. Bees School, Sandbach, Stonyhurst, Merchant Taylors’, St Mary’s College Crosby, Birkenhead, Kings Chester, William Hulmes Grammar and Audenshaw all competed in various activities, including shooting, signals, the chocolate maze, orienteering, first aid, observations and aircraft recognition.

The overall competition winners were a team of cadets from Sandbach School.
