CURIOUS youngsters conducted their own baptisms in a visit to their historic local church.

The Arlecdon School youngsters took to St Michael’s Church as part of school’s RE curriculum to find out about the ceremonies on the church and the building’s long history.

During the tour, which involved the entire school, children were able to ask Rev Peter Turnbull questions about aspects of church that intrigued them.

Pupils from Years 3 and 4 conducted their own baptism, which class teacher Amy Lucas said was a “really engaging opportunity to learn about such a ceremony”.
