HUNDREDS of pounds are expected to be raised for charity in a popular workshop's exhibition.

Fobbles is hosting its annual fundraising display of patchwork, quiltwork and embroidery at its workshop in Holmrook, West Cumbria.

Proceeds from the event, which began today (Friday) and continues tomorrow (Saturday), will be donated to the Great North Air Ambulance.

Over 100 pieces of work donated by customers are on display, including fine embroidery, cushions, soft toys and felting.

"We have a lot of local customers, plus a lot who travel from Yorkshire, Lancashire and the North East," said Fobbles' Beverley Trembath. "We were donated many beautiful items and have managed to get them all on display."

The air ambulance donation is being raised through entry fees (£2.50), a raffle and tombola. The workshop alternates its beneficiaries annually between the air ambulance and West Cumbria Hospice at Home.

The event continues on Saturday, between 10am and 4pm.
