Workington's all-weather lifeboat was called out this morning after a trawler got into difficulty.
The Dorothy May White was launched at about 5am to search for the 66ft Hanas, which had lost radio contact while travelling to Maryport from Girvan in western Scotland.
The lifeboat crew located the vessel, which had one person on board and was taking on water.
The RNLI crew accompanied the 150-tonne trawler to West Cumbria, with a lifeboat crew member on board.
Nobody was injured.
