Workington Town have parted company with Phil Veivers.
The club's directors have confirmed that the Aussie will not return as coach next season.
The move follows Town's recent relegation from the Championship to League One after a disastrous, injury-plagued season.
Director Mark Fryer said it had been an extremely difficult decision because he considered Veivers to be a friend.
He added: "Unfortunately, one of the consequences of dropping to League One is a significant drop in income.
"We will now need to restructure the club in every department due to the playing and coaching budget being considerably smaller than last season."
Fryer hailed Veivers' impact on the west Cumbrians, saying he had brought a professional attitude to the club when it was needed.
"He has been a great servant to our club but it is well known that a combination of circumstances has resulted in a season that has been very difficult on and off the field.
"We would like to put on record our thanks to Phil for his efforts throughout the 2016 season, his time at Workington Town and wish him the very best for the future.
"I hope that Phil will always be a friend to Workington Town as we move on to the next stage in our history," added Fryer.
Veivers, 52, had been in charge at the Zebra Claims Stadium for three years and led Workington to the Championship Shield semi-final in 2015.
