A Whitehaven woman has been appointed Britain's Energy Coast's new business administration apprentice.
Rachel Murray, 18, is a former St Benedict's School pupil and has taken up a Level 3 apprenticeship through Gen2.
Paula Mewse, BEC's executive assistant, said: "From day one the standard of Rachel's work has impressed us and we look forward to her growing in her role as she undertakes her apprenticeship with us."
Britain's Energy Coast is a commercial organisation jointly owned by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Allerdale, Copeland and Cumbria County Council.
It specialises in owning, operating, developing and regenerating property including Westlakes Science and Technology Park, near Whitehaven.
Rachel said: "They took the time to get to know me but also made sure I understood the organisation and what it does in the field of low-carbon properties development. I was really attracted to working for a company that was doing good things for the environment."
