A team from a West Cumbrian charity will cycle for 12 hours on a stationary bike to raise money.

Staff at West House, which supports people with learning disabilities, will be taking on the challenge at Cafe West, King Street, Whitehaven and in Workington town centre, next to Argos.

The teams will be competing against each other to see who can rack up the most miles.

The event is to raise money for ongoing projects at the charity's Westfield community activity centre in Workington.

The spinathon will take place between 7am and 7pm on Saturday.

At 3.30pm Spiderman and Superman will be joining the Workington team for a cycle.

Kate Bool, fundraising manager, said: "We're hoping that people will come along and jump on the bike for a while or just to say hello.

"Some players from Workington Town rugby team are coming to cycle before their match in the morning."

Workington Leisure Centre is providing the bikes for the day.
