A project which aims to enhance community and personal wellbeing through creativity has been rolled out across West Cumbria.

Creative Energy provides an exciting, diverse range of creative activities across five different venues in Allerdale, Copeland and Carlisle.

It is delivered by Creative Wellbeing - a non-profit social enterprise, which provides free and inclusive creative activities to enhance personal and social wellbeing.

People of all ages and abilities can take part in activities and events that include community drawing sessions, creative writing, felting, stone painting, printmaking and book-binding.

The programme of activities will culminate with a multi-activity showcase event in each area.

Rebecca Mellor, director of Creative Wellbeing, said: "Our focus on embracing all creative skills and developing community integration creates a wonderful level playing field for anyone and everyone to get involved.

"You don’t need to pre-register, know anyone there or have any experience of the activity - you can turn up and be guaranteed a friendly welcome!"

The West Cumbria sessions are taking place:

Every Tuesday until March 20, at Cleator Moor Library 10am-12pm and at Lakes College 1-3pm

Every Thursday until March 22, at Whitehaven Library 10am-12pm and at Aspatria Medical Group 1-3pm

The project aims to develop resilience and problem-solving skills and offers the opportunity to meet new people and to think about things differently.

It has been funded by the Community Choices campaign and Cumbria Community Foundation.
