Popular nineties boy band 5ive will perform two gigs at Whitehaven Civic Hall next year.

The first show on Friday, February 24 sold out in just days causing organisers to add a second gig on Friday, March 3.

5ive, currently made up of Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville and Scott Robinson, will bring hit singles Keep on Movin, If Ya Gettin' Down and Everybody Get Up to the town.

The band originally split up in September 2001 after selling 20 million records worldwide.

They have sold a minimum of 1.6 million albums and 2 million singles in the UK alone.

"I like them so I thought it would be popular with other people," said promoter John Lebbon. "But I didn't expect it to sell out so quickly. We sold 500 tickets and 100 have already gone for the second night."

Tickets are now available from the Civic Hall and are priced at £27. Both gigs begin at 7pm and a support act has yet to be confirmed.

Four-time World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty will hold a gentleman's evening at the Civic Hall tomorrow, with comedian Martin Gold and compere Lee Phelps. Some tickets are still available from the Civic Hall.

Sixteen-time world darts champion Phil Taylor is also set to visit on Saturday, February 4 next year. VIP tickets have sold out but standard tickets are available for £25.

And Royle Family star Ricky Tomlinson will appear on Friday, October 7.
