HOLLYWOOD’S biggest names have been rubbing shoulders with Egremont’s acting twins.

The Postlethwaite twins, Matthew and Jeffrey, are currently in Los Angeles trying to attract roles in America’s latest shows.

And they have been bumping into some big names, including Oscar winner Alicia Vikander and British star Eddie Redmayne.

Invited by the British Consulate in Los Angeles, the boys have been presenting awards and attending parties centred around the Oscars.

“First we were asked to host the final award of the night at this year’s Toscars - parodies of the Oscar nominated films. We hosted the award for best film,” said Matthew Postlethwaite.

The Toscars involves 10 teams with three weeks in which to produce a five minute short parody of a nominated film up for best feature. The films are then screened at the famous Egyptian theatre in Hollywood.

And, the twins were then invited to Film is Great, a celebration of Britian’s Oscar nominees and British film.

“We got asked to go along to the Film is Great reception held by James Corden and Eddie Redmayne, with food provided by Gordon Ramsey and music by Jamie Cullum. This was an amazing event.”

While at these ceremonies, the actors have also met Idris Elba, Naomi Campbell and Jack Whitehall.

But the highlight for Matthew was having a 15 minute chat with Alicia Vikander, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in The Danish Girl .

He said: “One of my favourite moments of the night was speaking to Alicia for about 15 minutes. Just chatting about where she’s from, where I’m from, what I miss about the UK (my mum’s gravy) and where she’s staying in LA.

“Once James Corden started to speak we finished the conversation and wished each other a great night.”
