Pascha Coffee, on King Street, closed last Friday. Owners posted a notice on the door of the shop and a message on Facebook.
Their statement reads: “Due to unforeseen circumstances Pacha Coffee will no longer be open, it’s took us all by surprise and we are incredibly upset to be leaving it all behind on such short notice.
“We want to thank all of the lovely people who kept us going and wish you all the best of luck in the future.”
Former customer Patrick Walsh said: “Fantastic coffee shop with fantastic staff. We will all miss our Saturday visits.”
Georgia Louise Corlett added: “Such a shame, was my favourite place to be in town.”
Last December, the coffee outlet hosted an outdoor music event to raise money for the Cumbrian flood victims.
The event featured music from Irish folk outfit D’Bleedin’ Blaggards, alongside acoustic performances by various local artists.
