SUPPORT for 5ive's much-anticipated Whitehaven appearance in February has been announced, and those still with tickets for March's cancelled date are being urged to contact organisers.

The 90s chart stars are in town to play at the Solway Hall on Friday February 24, with tickets still available to those who had purchased tickets for the subsequently shelved show on March 3.

5ive have been back in the limelight over the festive period, with founder member Ritchie Neville featuring on ITV's Celebrity Take Me Out.

The band, currently made up of Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville and Scott Robinson, will bring hit singles Keep on Movin', If Ya Gettin' Down and Everybody Get Up to the town.

They originally split up in September 2001 after selling 20 million records worldwide. It has sold a minimum of 1.6 million albums and 2 million singles in the UK alone.

It will be a huge occasion for West Cumbria's own indie rock band Collision, who have been confirmed as support for the night. The five-piece, who have all been involved with various local bands in recent years, play covers from the likes of Oasis, Stereophonics, and Kasabian.

Paul Seith will also be DJ-ing on the night.

Tickets are on sale from Whitehaven Civic Hall, and anyone with tickets for the cancelled March date can exchange them or be refunded.
