A CHARITY fundraiser has helped to raise £8,300 for the West Cumbria branch of Parkinson’s UK.

All of the money will be spent locally helping to enhance the quality of life for Parkinson’s families.

Fundraisers included Claire Crewdson, the manager of Santander, in Whitehaven who completed the Keswick to Barrow Walk.

Santander also helped at a music night called 'performing for Parkinson’s' at Whitehaven Civic Hall making £536 on the raffle alone.

A total of £4,150 was raised on the night including a £500 donation from Peter Boyle.

This was match funded by Santander giving the group a total of £8,300.

John Kane, chair of the local Parkinson's group, thanked all those who contributed including Marc Goodwin who organised "a fantastic line up of local talented musicians who all performed for free and Peter Boyle".

The cheque from Santander was presented at the West Cumbria branch Parkinson’s summer dinner.
