SINGING sensation Jolan is heading to London this week for "advanced talks" over releasing new material.

The Copeland performer, who finished as runner up in the BBC's The Voice, has been working on his musical future with Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson, who was his mentor on the show.

Jolan will return to the capital to plan his next move as Ricky gets to work on his band's latest release.

The Moor Row musician said he was "hopeful a big announcement will be coming very soon."

Jolan was pipped to the post by Kevin Simm - a former member of pop group Liberty X - in April's live final watched by millions.

He said: "Ricky has helped a lot, he said he would help at the end of the show and he has. I went to see Kaiser Chiefs in Scarborough recently and it was good to catch up with him.

"He's busy working on his new album at the moment but he has been involved."

After his second place finish, Jolan's fans queued for the chance to get their hands on tickets to his Whitehaven shows in May and June.

Demand was so high that the star had to add an extra night when his first show sold out in 19 minutes.

In total, the singer played four gigs at Copeland Stadium to thank his fans for their support during the show.

And since his Whitehaven performances he has played a number of shows across the county, including Carlisle's Pride festival and Maryport Gala Day.
