Doctor Jane Platt, a researcher in church history, will present a talk to members of the South West Cumbria History and Archaeology Society on Saturday.
Held at Egremont Market Hall at 2pm, Dr Platt's talk is entitled The Diocese of Carlisle and Parish Magazines in 19th Century Cumberland.
Admission is £1 for members and £3 for visitors.
