Theatre-goers will be left shouting for 'more' when a talented local group takes to the stage with much-loved musical Oliver! next month.

Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatics Society (WADAOS) perform the show at Whitehaven Civic Hall from March 14 to 18, and tickets are available now.

Playing the part of Oliver is Whitehaven youngster Oliver Jarvis for what will be his first foray into local theatre, although he has previous experience in school plays and, latterly, with Cowper's School of Dance, in which he took part in carnivals and other showpiece events.

And joining Oliver are a mix of newcomers and familiar faces on the local theatrical scene, including Becky Hardman and Jamie Wilson as Bill and Nancy Sikes, Jonathon Lucas as the Artful Dodger and Stuart Evans as Fagin.

The director is Ann Simpson, joined by Tracy McOuat as choreographer and David Proud as musical director.

The show begins nightly at 7.15pm and tickets are £10 (£9 concessions) from www.thelittleboxoffice.com/wadaos
