St Bees Youth Club has played host to the village's RNLI.

The volunteers were invited along to the club to talk about the lifeboat

and what it takes to become a volunteer.

Topics covered during the evening included staying safe when playing on or near the water and what to do if you see someone in trouble.

They also got the chance to wear some of the safety equipment worn by the lifeboat volunteers when out on the water, and talk to the crew about past rescues.

Dick Beddows, St Bees lifeboat operations manager, said: "Its always great to get the opportunity to talk to younger members of the community about sea safety and maybe even see some of them volunteering as crew members in the future.''
