Sporting stars are flocking to Whitehaven this year as four big names visit the Civic Hall.

Darts legend Phil Taylor, Liverpool FC hero Jamie Carragher, former world champion boxer Ricky Hatton and ex-All Blacks star Zinzan Brooke will all stop off in the town this year.

First to visit is 16-time world champion Taylor, widely regarded as the greatest darts player of all time, on Saturday, February 4 at 7pm.

British boxer Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton will tell tales of his illustrious time in the ring on Thursday, March 9.

Over a 15-year career, Hatton held multiple world titles at light-welterweight and one at welterweight while in 2005 he was named The Ring magazine’s Fighter of the Year.

On Thursday, April 27, Champions League and two-time FA Cup winning Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, will visit with presenter Pete Graves.

Former All Black number eight Zinzan Brooke, one of rugby union’s most renowned players, is coming on Friday, May 12 at 7pm.

Tickets for Taylor cost £25 or £40 for VIP while a sponsors table can be bought for £450.

For Hatton, tickets cost £30 while VIP tickets, including a picture with Hatton and a ticket for a draw to win a signed glove, are priced at £50.

Carragher tickets are priced at £50, £60 for VIP, including a photo, and £600 for a table of 10. To see Brooke it costs £40.
