A PLANNED general election hustings which was set to go ahead tonight has been cancelled amid a halt to all campaigning in light of the tragic Manchester terror attack.

Candidates battling for the Barrow and Furness seat had been due to debate key issues at St Mary's church hall on Walney.

But instead, a service of solidarity will be held at the adjacent church, led by the Reverend Andy Batchelor.

It will start at 7pm and all are invited to attend.
