After 13 days and 200 miles, Sky Sports presenter Dave Clark has completed the Coast to Coast - from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay - and raised over £100,000 for Parkinson's UK in the process.

Darts anchor Clark has been living with Parkinson's disease since 2011, a condition which makes walking increasingly difficult.

He started in St Bees on September 10 and began the trek with a 15-mile walk to Ennerdale Bridge.

Seeing Dave off was John Kane, chairman of the West Cumbria branch of Parkinson's UK, who was diagnosed with the condition himself 10 years ago.

"The generosity and kindness shown by so many has been incredible. There were mishaps, injuries, exhaustion and much more over the fortnight but we battled on," said Clark.

"In the end all of that was far outweighed by the sense of achievement, the camaraderie and laughter and by so many amazing gestures of support before, during and after the walk."

He added: "When we reached Robin Hood's Bay there was a huge sense of elation, but I was overwhelmed with so many emotions. Looking back it seemed to touch everyone, a tide of positivity from sea to shining sea."

Along the route he was joined by a host of friends including Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling, chief executive of the Professional Dart's Corporation Matt Porter and sports presenter Gabriele Marcotti.

The presenter took on the challenge to drive awareness of the urgency to raise funds for research, which is hoped will lead to the discovery of new drug treatments for the condition.

Clark is a Champion of Walking for Parkinson's UK. Fellow Sky Sports colleague and friend, Martin Turner walked with Clark from the beginning to the very end. Turner is also living with Parkinson's and was diagnosed in 2015.

Sky committed to doubling every pound raised through donations up to £50,000. To donate, visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ClarkysC2C
