A pop group who had a string of worldwide hits in the 1960s will headline a fundraiser in Whitehaven next week.
Vanity Fare, who achieved gold records with smash singles Early in the Morning and Hitchin' a Ride, perform at Whitehaven Civic Hall with proceeds going to the Action for Children charity.
The band's show reflects much of their 47-year history, which began in 1968 with their debut single I Live for the Sun. They also enjoyed success in the United States when their song, Hitchin' a Ride, was adopted as a cult song by many of the West Coast DJs and helped create the 'Hitch-Hike' dance craze.
As well as featuring their own hits from the 1960s and 1970s, Vanity Fare will also perform a selection of the best pop music from the last 50 years.
Organised by Whitehaven man Harry Hartley, it is the 28th year for the charity show and £60,000 has been raised in total for local children.
The show, also featuring Dougie, takes place on Saturday, October 9 at 7.45pm. Tickets are £10 (concessions £8) from the Civic Hall or from Mr Hartley on 01946 693638.
