Excited schoolchildren hit the right note when they took part in a music day.
Every child at St Bees Village School, from pre-school to year six, were involved in the event which organisers hailed a huge success.
Three workshops took place throughout the day – a Javanese Gamelan instrument session; djembe drums and a singing workshop.
And at the end of the day each class performed in a concert.
Year 3 teacher Sarah George, who organised the event, said the children had a great time, adding she was extremely pleased with the event.
"Every class had a go at all of the workshops and the day culminated in a concert where all the children performed what they had learned," she said.
"They absolutely loved it. It was one of those days off the timetables and they were all having lots of fun."
The workshop on Javanese Gamelan instruments, likened to large percussion instruments, was led by Sarah Kekus.
The djembe drums, led by Kevin Hamel, allowed the children to try their hand at African drumming and storytelling.
Alumini of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Hannah King, Ben Rowarth and Harry Bradford, passed on their singing expertise during the workshop.
Mrs George added: "It was such an opportunity to work with such amazing musicians.
"I was thrilled with how the day worked out – it ran like clockwork. The children were enticed and excited by the different workshops.
"It was lovely seeing everyone coming together and sharing what they'd learned. Everyone was so confident – they didn't seem to have any nerves when they were performing."
