Rail passengers travelling between Carlisle and London are facing disruption tomorrow.
Network Rail says that it is caused by damage to overhead power lines between Penrith and Oxenholme.
As a result, services operated by Virgin Trains will not be operating between Carlisle and Lancaster.
Those operated by TransPennine Express will not be running between Carlisle and Oxenholme.
Network Rail says that some trains may start and terminate at Preston, while buses will operate between Carlisle and Lancaster, calling at Penrith and Oxenholme.
Due to planned engineering work, buses will also be operating between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh, and Carlisle.
On its website, Network Rail said: "Virgin Trains customers with tickets to/from Carlisle, Penrith and Oxenholme who decide not to travel on Monday may instead travel on Tuesday 30 May.
"Tickets will be valid for travel at any time."
It added that Virgin Trains customers may use TransPennine Express services "via any reasonable route".
