Two girls sustained minor injuries after they were assaulted by three others outside McDonald's in Whitehaven.
Police say the girls, aged 13 and 14, had been to a party before going into the fast food restaurant around midnight on Monday.
They were then dragged out by three young females, thought to be of a similar age, and taken out of view of CCTV cameras before being assaulted.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Call 101.
