Police have confirmed they have found a Whitehaven man who they were trying to trace.
Davie Barwise, 18, was believed to be the driver of a blue Nissan Micra which was found on its side at Keekle near Cleator Moor just after 3.30am.
The car was damaged but there was nobody inside the vehicle.
The road was closed between Trumpet Road at Cleator Moor and Dalzell Street at Goose Butts while investigations took place.
Rush hour traffic was diverted and the road reopened around 8.30am.
Police were concerned for the driver's welfare and issued an appeal.
They confirmed just after 5pm that he had been found safe and well.
