A 19-year-old man and a teenager have appeared in court jointly charged with robbery at a west Cumbrian post office.
Reece Kirk, of Murrayfield Terrace, Ravenglass and a 17-year-old male from the Seascale area - who cannot be named for legal reasons - appeared at Carlisle Magistrates' Court this morning.
The pair are accused of robbing Brian Levitan, owner of the Post Office in Main Street, Ravenglass, of £130 in cash.
No pleas were entered.
The offence allegedly took place in the village yesterday morning.
During today's appearance, the defendants spoke only to confirm their names, ages and addresses.
Kirk, wearing a grey sweatshirt, was remanded in custody until February 13.
Magistrates will decide later this afternoon whether or not to grant conditional bail to the youth.
The case was sent to Carlisle Crown Court.
