TEN men, three lakes, 65 kilometres, and just one day - it all adds up to a successful and gruelling charity challenge.
A group of nuclear workers, including staff from Kaefer, Sellafield Ltd and other contracting firms on site - completed the Three Lakes Challenge and raised over £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The challenge involved the team rowing Coniston, Windermere and Ullswater, while cycling in between through Crake Valley and over Kirkstone Pass. The total rowed was 37.5km and total cycled 27km.
Three of the team - Gary Barwise, Lee Holliday and Gary McKee - had completed the London Marathon in April and raised £6,000, and the Three Lakes Challenge has increased that total to £9,000.
The team's Liam Seager said: "We'd like to thanks Westways Auto Centre in Whitehaven for the huge donation, and to Kaefer Ltd and Sellafield Ltd for use of the transportation."
