WANTING to set up a new business? Then Copeland Council can help.

It will be offering free commercial training and trading space for those interested in starting up a fresh business in the area.

A series of short courses will offer advice and support from qualified professionals, as well as the offer to trial new businesses on a free stall at the revamped Whitehaven market.

Mike Starkie, Mayor of Copeland, said: “I want to get the message out that Copeland is open for business. We are pleased to be able to offer this free training as well as a free market stall to trail new businesses.

"It is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs to gain feedback on their product or service and promote themselves free of charge.

“It is vital for us to nurture business development in Copeland and support local entrepreneurs, and we would like to encourage anyone who is interested in business to get involved and utilise this excellent resource.''

And he added: "We have invested over £60,000 to revamp the marketplace in Whitehaven and we are committed to making every town in Copeland thriving for businesses.''

The short courses will be held at The Market Hall. Further details will soon be advertised on the Copeland Council website www.copeland.gov.uk
