Four West Cumbrian men have been charged after a man suffered serious head injuries in an incident in Workington.
A Maryport man, who is in his 50s, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary at Newcastle after the incident outside the Trades Hall Social Club in Brow Top at about 7.45pm on Saturday.
Nyle Bell, 20, of Dean Street, Workington, and Michael Jenkins, 18, of Irish Street, Whitehaven, have been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, and affray.
Scott Walton, 18, of Windsor Road, Workington, and Scott Hannon, 20, of Wastwater Avenue, Workington, have been charged with affray.
All four men have appeared before magistrates.
Bell, Hannon and Jenkins were remanded in custody. Walton is on conditional bail.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
