Paul Roger Farish, of Moor Place, Frizington, appeared at West Cumbria Courthouse in Workington on Saturday charged with robbery and possessing an imitation firearm early on October 28.
The alleged incident happened at the Post Office, on Frizington’s Main Street.
He was remanded in custody and will next appear before Carlisle Crown Court on December 7.
A 19-year-old man who was also arrested has been bailed until December 14.
