A Whitehaven man accused of four child sex offences will appear at Carlisle Crown Court next month.

Darren David Chambers, 27, of Honister Road, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates' Court on Friday on two charges of causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

He is also charged with arranging to meet a girl under 16 following grooming and causing a girl under 13 to watch or look at an image of sexual activity.

All four offences allegedly occurred between March and April last year.

Chambers did not indicate a plea and is due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on February 6.

In the meantime he is on conditional bail.
