Major road in West Cumbria reopens following crash involving cars and HGV
A major West Cumbrian road has reopened following a crash between two cars and an HGV.
The A596 between Flimby and Maryport was closed after a lorry, a VW Passat and a Toyota Yaris were in collision at the junction of Hutton Place, near Glasson Industrial Estate, around 11.10am today.
The Yaris driver, a 72-year-old woman from Workington, was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven with minor injuries.
A police spokesman said the Passat driver, a 30-year-old Maryport man, and the driver of the lorry suffered no reported injuries.
