A MISSING eight-foot long snake has been found – under its owners’ bath.

Boa constrictor Mufasa escaped from the first floor bathroom of the Whitehaven home of Louise Rogers, 31, and her partner Becky Coulter, 22, nearly two weeks ago.

It is understood the couple, of North Row, Kells, were awakened yesterday (Wednesday) morning by a thud coming from the bathroom.

The snake had been under the floorboards as he has came out from under the bath, it is believed.

Cumbria Police yesterday confirmed the snake had been located safe and well.

The disappearance of the snake attracted widespread interest from local and national media.

At the time of its disappearance, owner Louise, said: “Mufasa was having a soak in the bath while I was cleaning his vivarium.

“The bathroom door was firmly shut and the window was only slightly open – not enough for him to get through.”

After a desperate search around the bathroom, Louise believed it may have slithered down the toilet.

It is understood the couple have been regularly checking under the floorboards since the snake escaped.
