Demonstrating to firms that Whitehaven is 'Open for Business' is the aim of an event next week.
Whitehaven Chamber of Trade has organised the gathering in Whitehaven Civic Hall on Monday, May 9 at 5.45pm to foster relationships within the town's business community.
Alongside a 'speed networking' session, guest speakers at the Open for Business event include John Rowlands, managing director of Romar Innovate Ltd and Jonty Chippendale, chairman of Cockermouth and District Chamber of Trade.
There is no need to RSVP, says the Chamber of Trade's chairman Charles Maudling, and all businesses in Whitehaven are welcome.
Mr Maudling said: "People will have the chance to walk away with more contacts to help them build a great network of professional contacts and customers.
"All people need to do is bring their business cards or a selection of their products and chat with each person until the bell rings.
"It's a fun and friendly opportunity to sell yourself and your business."
