GET your tiaras, cake and a glass of bubbly at the ready as the Queen marks her 90th birthday.

Street parties, celebrations, and summer fairs are set to take place this weekend to mark Her Majesty’s significant milestone.

On Saturday, Egremont parish church will hold its usual summer fair (10am), followed by a special celebration (12pm) featuring a barbecue, games and entertainment. It will finish at 4pm with the national anthem and a rendition of Happy Birthday.

An afternoon tea party and flower display will be held at St George’s Church, in Millom, at 2pm followed by a festival of music at 6.30pm.

The festival will feature Holborn Hill Brass Band, children from Haverigg School, and organist prodigy Declan Poole.

Also, on Saturday afternoon, 160 Guides will gather at Summergrove, near Moor Row, for a street party, arts and crafts day and treasure hunt.

On Sunday, Lamplugh WI will host afternoon tea at Lamplugh Village Hall, from 1pm until 4pm. Admission is £4, plus a prize raffle. Proceeds will go to Cockermouth Mountain Rescue.

Also on Sunday afternoon, will be a free community afternoon tea at St Nicholas Gardens, in Whitehaven, from 4.30pm, for a 5pm start.

The event, organised by Whitehaven cafechurch, will feature a quiz, talk, live music and free food.

On Saturday, June, 18 the Keekle and Padstow Senior Citizens are set to have strawberry and cream teas at the Keekle Mission Rooms from 2pm until 4pm. Cost £4.
