A charity has launched a challenge to involve West Cumbrian businesses in the celebration of its 30th anniversary.

Hospice At Home West Cumbria is asking local firms to get involved in its £30 for 30 Challenge.

Businesses will receive £30 from the charity, thanks to sponsorship by Sealy UK, to turn into as much money as possible for the cause.

Selina Williams, the charity's fundraising and marketing manager at, said: "With this money they can do what they want, from running 30 laps to baking 30 cakes or organise an event.

"We'll be running the challenge from May until July and then we'll have an awards night where we'll give prizes such as one for the craziest idea or the most creative fundraising event."

The charity will publish a leaderboard on its website with totals raised by the participating companies each week.

Anyone wanting to take part can call the charity's fundraising office on 01900 873173 or email fundraising@hhwc.org.uk
