A Whitehaven day centre has raised funds for the Park family's triplets.
Staff and users of Hensingham Day Centre donated prizes and organised a raffle, with the £144 raised going to support dad Steven Park and baby triplets Poppie, Mollie and Evelyn, who tragically lost their wife and mum Rachel just after Christmas.
The fundraising push was organised by members of staff Lynne Murphy and Diane Barker. Lynne said: "As well as ongoing fundraising for the centre, we always try to support good causes in the local community to give something back – as people are always so kind to us.
"And it's such a sad situation faced by the Park family that we decided to support them. Staff and users donated 41 prizes and their response was tremendous."
The triplets were born on March 11 last year at just 26 weeks and spent 111 days in Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, followed by a spell in the West Cumberland Hospital, but were allowed home in time for Christmas.
