Matthew Telfer, of Dent Road, Mirehouse, was found dead at Rope Walk, near Coach Road, last Wednesday.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
A funeral service will be held at St James’ Church, Whitehaven, at 2.30pm followed by cremation at Distington Hall.
Cash donations will be collected for Unity Drug and Alcohol Services, in Whitehaven, which can be sent via Eaves Funeral Service. A request has been made for family flowers only.
The details of Mr Telfer’s death have been passed onto the coroner for Cumbria.
