Visitors will be given the chance to go back to school, as old log books and school records will be on display at the Whitehaven Archive and Local Studies Centre on September 20.
There will even be a school tuck shop selling goodies and visitors are encouraged to bring an old school report or photo, or wear an old school tie.
The discovery evenings started this summer and will continue throughout the year.
There was a wide variety of items on display from the strongroom, including 18th century county maps, 19th century Tithe maps and 20th century World War Two maps.
There was also a map showing the extent of the Curwen estates in the area and a plan of the Jeffersons’ plantation at Yeamans, Antigua.
The evening also featured a display of the 10ft to one mile town centre maps, which are so detailed they show the individual steps leading to a property, and Goad maps which show local business premises.
Lesley Park, archives assistant, said: “You can just pop in, have a cup of tea and see what we have here – because people may not know what kinds of things we have.”
Whitehaven Archive and Local Studies Centre is on Scotch Street next to the police station.
