Around 60 bikers turned out to the annual Two Tin ride, organised by the Whitehaven Motorcycle Action Group.
They were collecting tins and preserved food for Age UK and tinned pet foods for Animal Concern West Cumbria. These essential items will be given to those in need this Christmas.
Bikers travelled from Keswick to pick up food at collection points in Cockermouth, Maryport and Workington before heading to Whitehaven.
Anne Crayston, of Whitehaven MAG, said: “We had up to 60 bikers and it was good weather. There was a lot of young faces which was good as we are hoping to encourage more young people to join the group.”
Sue Hayman, MP for Workington, joined the ride from Keswick to Workington. She was riding pillion with Mike Armstrong, the Cumbria regional representative for MAG.
Anne said thanks go to all those who supported the event.
Whitehaven MAG welcomes new members. The group meets on the second and fourth Mondays of every month at the La’al Catholic Club in Egremont, from 7.30pm.
