SEVERE dehydration caused by soaring temperatures meant the air ambulance had to fly to a woman's aid yesterday (Tuesday).
The 23-year-old woman was walking on a Lake District fell when the exposed heat caused her to suffer exhaustion and dehydration.
The Pride of Cumbria air ambulance treated the woman on the scene before she was transported to West Cumberland Hospital, where she arrived within 10 minutes in a stable condition.
She had been walking near Scafell Pike with her boyfriend before the incident occurred. The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called at 4pm.
