Electricity is back on in Whitehaven after a major power cut affected over 1,000 properties.
The buildings - including shops along the town's King Street - were without power for nearly an hour.
An Electricity North West spokesman said: "There was a fault on a private network, which was connected to ours, in the area.
"We had to switch off the power to 1,081 properties at 11.15am for safety reasons. We isolated the network and got everyone back on at 12.11am."
Tesco, on Bransty Row, closed to customers during the power cut but has reopened. The Bransty Arch Wetherspoons also had to shut its doors but is open again now.
