A LITTLE festive cheer has been brought to sick children this Christmas – thanks to an Egremont charity.

Representatives of the Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children’s Fund (CKDCF) – set up by Egremont musician Francis Dunnery in memory of his parents – donated £1,000 worth of gifts and over 200 selection boxes to those being treated on the cancer wards at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI).

Mark Andrews, the local face of CKDCF, visited the Christmas party for the RVI's cancer ward – which treats Cumbrian youngsters – to hand out the gifts.

CKDCF, which has been established since 2002, donates money at regular intervals throughout the year to causes that benefit local children.
