An uninsured driver caused havoc during a late night police chase in west Cumbria, a court heard.
David Patrick Hughes, 19, left a trail of damage in his wake at Whitehaven on May 9.
Hughes's Audi A3 struck three parked vehicles, knocked down a lamp post and damaged drain pipes outside five different High Road addresses.
Carlisle Crown Court heard the pursuit came to an end when he crashed into - and obliterated - a garden wall in the same street. His dreadful driving came just five days after he sped away from police and damaged a taxi in the same town.
Having pleaded guilty to 17 separate offences, he was sentenced today by Judge Peter Davies.
Considerable mitigation was put forward on behalf of Hughes, of Fell View Drive, Egremont.
As a result, a nine-month custodial sentence was suspended for two years for what Judge Davies called "two moments of madness".
Hughes must complete 150 hours' unpaid work and a rehabilitation requirement and was banned from driving for a year.
