A TV presenter known as "The Gentleman Crafter" will be stopping off in West Cumbria on his journey across the country.

John Bloodworth, star of Create & Craft TV, is embarking on his national All-Counties Craft Challenge tour of the UK.

He will be a familiar face for craft fans, with more than 10,000 on-screen hours on the TV channel under his belt.

The presenter, designer and blogger is currently travelling nationwide to raise money for mental health charity Mind, traversing the length and breadth of the country, hosting craft workshops from Land’s End to John O’ Groats with the aim of visiting every one of the 92 historic counties of the UK - plus a few outlying islands too.

On Sunday February 12, he will be making his Cumbrian stop-off in his Create & Craft camper van at Florence Arts Centre in Egremont.

He’ll be hosting a craft workshop in the arts centre’s gallery space to make a mixed media working clockface, teaching his techniques and having fun along the way.

This is his only Cumbrian appearance and spaces are limited so early booking is advised - places are £30 per person and all materials are provided.

Having had his own life turned upside down by mental health issues in recent years, the tour is raising money for a cause close to John's heart. With severe depression and general anxiety disorder making day-to-day life a genuine struggle, Mind were there for John and he credits the charity as an outstanding resource and support mechanism through it all.

Through his work and his blog John has also heard many similar stories from individuals around the world. He decided to take on this challenge in order to give something back and to help Mind help others who have been affected by similar issues with the added bonus of sharing the calming, focusing and ultimately beneficial properties of a creative hobby along the way.
