Egremont Crab Fair's 750th anniversary celebrations got underway in style with the launch of its first ever food festival.

Chef demonstrations, a variety of food and drink stalls and a mini beer festival are all on offer at Egremont Castle.

Organised by CN Events, the food festival began this morning and will run throughout tomorrow.

Marie Whitehead, from CN Events, said: "For the first time ever, Egremont Crab Fair as part of its 750 celebrations welcomes a food and drink festival to the town.

"There's a variety of food to enjoy as well as food to take home and enjoy later, and the traders are located in the beautiful grounds of Egremont Castle."
