Police have named them as Aaron Heasley, 25, and Dean Heasley, 24.
The one-vehicle collision occurred on the A5093 at around 9.30pm, and involved a blue VW Golf driven by Aaron. Dean was the front seat passenger.
Both Aaron, of Victoria Street, Millom, and Dean, of Settle Street, Millom, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The families of the two men are being supported by specially trained officers and enquiries around the circumstances of the collision are continuing.
A 26-year-old Millom man, also a passenger in the car, was taken to Furness General Hospital with serious leg injuries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call Cumbria Police on 101 and ask to speak to the Mobile Support Group.
