COPELAND MP Jamie Reed has secured a debate on NHS services in Cumbria.

The debate will be held in Westminster Hall on Wednesday, May 4 at 11am, when Mr Reed will put the public’s questions direct to government ministers.

In addition to the questions from the public, Mr Reed is expected to raise the ongoing recruitment crisis, the increasing pressure on services, the uncertainty around the Phase 2 of the redevelopment of West Cumberland Hospital and will call upon the government to commit to providing the Success Regime with the funding that is necessary to allow that process to succeed.

Mr Reed said: “As a community, we have been fighting for our health services for a long time: to retain, to improve and to make sustainable our key services.

"As part of this, I have secured a debate in Parliament to discuss these issues directly with the government.

“As with the whole campaign, this debate is about our community and so I need your help. Are there any questions you want to ask the government? Do you have any concerns you want me to raise? Email me and I will put your questions.

“The challenges we face are well documented, but it is time for the government to stand up and play their part. This debate will give me the chance to bring your questions directly to the Government.”
