Calling all men! A local theatre group is looking for a leading man for their upcoming production of Legally Blonde.

Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society is performing the stage version of the much-loved 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon in July, and in need of male actors to join the team.

"Rehearsals and well under way and are proving to be great fun," said Lynn McTiffin, ofthe society. 

"We're delighted to have a new director Will Tillotson, who joined us in the role of David Horton in The Vicar of Dibley.

"We also welcome Adrienne Kelly and her dancers from Cowper's on board.

"However, we do need some men to join the cast - so if there's anyone out there that would to join us then please come along to rehearsals.

"We are also looking for a musical director for the production."

The cast so far includes Hannah Dorney as Lady Elle Woods, Tracey McOuat as Margot, Sara Easton as Serena; Willow Jarvis as Pilar, Dan England as Emmett and Becky Hardman as Paulette.

Rehearsals take place at The Haven Club on Wednesdays at 7pm, and the show runs in Whitehaven Civic Hall from July 26 to 30.
