LAKES College has been ranked in the top 10 for student satisfaction in a national survey.

The Lillyhall college scored 97 per cent for overall student satisfaction in the annual National Student Survey, which lists satisfaction ratings across 155 universities, 190 further education colleges and 13 alternate providers.

The result in 17 per cent above the national average, and puts Lakes in the top 10 per cent of higher education providers. It also received 100 per cent positive feedback from students in assessment and marking, and for staff explanations in their subjects. While 97 per cent of students said they found their courses intellectually stimulating, and that they received sufficient advice and support with their studies.

Chris Nattress, college principal, said: “We are delighted with the results of this year’s survey. The feedback from our students is excellent and reflects all the hard work and dedication our staff put in every day to make the college a vibrant learning community.

"This demonstration of confidence by our students shows that our new strategy of focusing on our teaching and learning principles, and improving overall outcomes and the quality of learning for all students, is working.

"I am very proud of what our students have achieved and I hope this result encourages students to continue to apply and become a part of the Lakes College family.

"We have many exciting opportunities happening at Lakes College in the future, including hosting the UK’s National College for Nuclear facility, and although we are delighted with this result, we will continue to strive to provide the best possible experience for every one of our learners."
